Glowing skin

How can you get nice 'glowing' healthy looking skin without using a solarium?
My skin is in good condition but it just doesn't have any.. I don't know.. It doesn't have anything 'about it.' I used to use a sunbed thing where you stand up in it, twice a week to clear up my spots and it made my skin looks really nice even without getting much of a tan. But now the spots are gone I don't really want to use it because it's not really very good for you, is it?
I've been using one of those body brushes for about a week, but it doesn't seem to have made much of a difference.. any tips or anything?

Cutting out sugar, drinking lots of water and taking flaxseed oil have done wonders for my skin. Also bronzers are good if you don't want to be using a sun bed, i love the bodyshop bronzing pearls.

Water, raw food, fruit, veg, exercise and origins modern friction microdermbrasion scrub followed by a lovely moisturiser works absolute miracles.
