| | | Treatments For Dry/Damaged Hair Are there any hair treatments (such as leave in conditioners, etc) that are effective and easy on the wallet that any of you have tried? The winter has made my hair a bit dry and frizzy. I use whatever shampoo is available and Garnier Fruictis conditioner for dry/damaged hair. I know there are a few hair treatments like Infusium 23 and v05 Hot Oil treatments. I tried the Infusium 23 leave in conditioner for the past 2 days, but I don't see noticeable results.
Any tips or suggestions? |

| | | well your first mistake is using Fruictis anything.
that shit strips your hair so fkn bad, i had to buy it for a travel shampoo & i actually debated if using the hotel shampoos would have been better.
i'd cease using any of that shit |

| | yeah it's going to counter act anything possitive you're doing. including hot oil treatments or leave in conditioners.
hair products are so jewish because for anything to actually work you really have to put forth money into them.
like makeup you can usually substitute some drug store coverup & still get a great look, but hair products aren't like that.
try some higher end drug store products, while still a little more $$ you're getting what you're paying for. I don't know if you guys have an Ulta there in PA. but they have a lot of the HIGH END brands for (sometimes) a lower cost. Sexy Hair products (sure its a retarded name) are amazing & i really don't use much of anything else nowadays. Sexy Hair |

i heard fructis was horrible for hair, too. as is pantene pro v. i roll with aveda sap moss shampoo and conditioner and sometimes shampure. the next time i run out i'm going to hook it up with the smooth infusion and i'll let you know. |

also try putting on conditioner, then put a shower cap on and sit in a steamy bath or shower for 10 minutes before rinsing.

| | | well.... it's not exactly cheap but Redken All Soft is really really amazing for dry hair.
Also, if you're in the US, there's this brand called Organix and they have this shea butter line. it's absolutely fantastic and cheap! |

| | | Yea you need to stop using cheap drug store products and spend a little more money on nice salon products. There are so many, but I'm sure any salon product would work better than garnier fructis and whatever else you're using. |

| | | I say this in every thread about damaged hair. Buuut, Ion restructurer is the BEST. I used to bleach my hair every week and this stuff was amazingly good at keeping my hair from properly frying off.
you can get Ion products at Sally's beauty supply.

| | | Good thread. I need to sort mine out too. Tigi Dumb Blonde leave-in conditioner is great, I Put the last of my tube on my hair yesterday and left it for 40mins. I can't afford another one. I made a thread about maybe going brunette cos my hair is so dry and can't take any more peroxide.
Is your hair light or dark? |

Is your hair light or dark? | My hair is dark. I don't bleach mine, but I do dye it. I haven't had my hair it's natural color in a couple years. (Though I haven't redone mine in about 2 months. It wasn't too dry or brittle after I dyed it the last time, either.) My hair doesn't fall out or break or any of that. I would just like it to be the healthiest and shiniest it can be.
And yeah, one of the reasons I posted asking if anyone knows any cost effective methods was because I can't afford $20+ a bottle for shampoo, conditioner, leave in treatments.
Oasis- the warm olive oil & lemon juice treatment- how much of each are you supposed to use? I assume you have to mix it together. I would think lemon juice would work the opposite and dry out your hair? |

| | | if you have dark hair, i would omit the lemon juice. that will lighten your hair. i use an olive oil serum that costs way too much money and my hair gal told me i can just use regular olive oil from the store with a little lavendar oil in it to make it smell good. maybe the lemon is for making it smell good?
there's always eggs.

there's always eggs. | Hmmm..I'll have to search around the net to get the deal on making your own olive oil treatment. And yeah, I guess the lemon juice would work to keep your hair lighter if your blonde, as well as make it smell nice. |

| | | i use lemon oil and have dark hair, and it hasnt lightened my hair. you dont have to use it, but i do.
i use 1/3 cup of warm oilve oil + half a lemon. some ppl tend to think thats a lot of olive oil but it works wonders for my used-to-be-fried hair. and i didnt spend a fortune of serums. |

Another shot is Redken's "soft" line. Their conditioner works well in the winter to make hair be shiny and soft, but in the summer it's a bit much. I have nat. blonde hair that is naturally wavy and somewhat thin, btw. Also, the Redken and tea-tree are not super expensive (under $20), but a really good bargain conditioner that my sister uses (short, dyed hair, thicker than mine) is the new Dove line, which is about $11.

Any tips or suggestions? | Sunsilk Hydra TLC Shampoo. Tea Tree Oil.
I relax and bleach my hair every two months, and use disgusting bonding latex glue for hair extensions but the aforementioned products make your hair feel brand newwwww every time | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
