| | | strange lump in my face For a couple days now Ive kept getting the feeling like I had been punched in the face in my right cheek. Its not in my gums high up, its more outer than that. Its right under where my cheekbone lies..and if I feel around and compare it to my other cheek - theres a tender hard lump. You cant see it though...I can just feel it sometimes when I open my mouth. And no, its not a boil either, its waayy under my skin, but not far enough to hit my teeth. AND its further behind my sinus as well, its not that either. It lines up perfectly with the middle of my ear.
Any idea what this is? |

| | | My brother has the same thing!
Well, it sounds like the same thing. He had a small lump in his cheek, right under the collarbone. He went to the dermatologist and she said it is just a cyst, kind of like a pimple wayyyyyy down there. It goes away on it's own I believe.
However, if it is really big, then I would go to a doctor or go anywhere even if it's small. You can never be too careful.
My brother's is totally noticeable though. |

| | Chances are its a cyst, a fatty deposit or (less likely) scar tissue.
I don't want to say gigantiform cementoma, but ...
In any case, you'll probably want to get it checked out. If it's sore they might be able to remove it. |

| | | i have the same type of thing, its around the size of marble in my cheek. sometimes when im sick it gets a little bigger and sore. i went to the doc + dentist and had x rays and things, but they couldnt figure out what it is, the dentist said its most likely a saliva gland. |

My brother's is totally noticeable though. | I had exactly the same thing. Mine was slightly lower down.
The doctor said it was that (a cyst). I had it removed by a plastic surgeon (he did it for free and I only had to pay like £80 for theatre , but if you have to pay in full its not going to be that much).
Definitely go to the doctor. More often than not they're cysts but then thats what doctors are there for - to look at stuff you're not sure about and sort it out. |
