i think it's perfectly ok if you're not sure if you're happy or not yet. there's nothing wrong with that.

Congratulations! Of course it's normal to be scared shitless, this is all new to you. Don't fret over how you should feel. Women react differently when they find out they're pregnant. Some cry in despair and some jump for joy. But you can bet that whether it's a good thing or a bad thing, they all feel overwhelmed. Just like you .

My finace is equally as shocked as I am. I've been so worried about myself that I haven't stopped to think about how he is feeling over this. I feel bad for him because he doesn't have a job now and is extremely stressed over this. He says he is going to go Active ARMY which terrifies me.

At least we can look to television to put our problems into perspective

it's normal. My friend's baby was planned but when she found out she was still like "ummmm....ok....WEIRD". because it's such a huge change in your life.

My mother had come off the pill a year before having my older sister but she still felt weirded out when she found out she was pregnant "because I had spent so much of my life trying to avoid getting pregnant that it was hard to persuade myself it was a good thing when I finally was".

What are the procedures doctors take when a person arrives saying that they are pregnant? They give me a blood test and then what? I'm so clueless when it comes to these things!

They will probably do a blood test to confirm your HCG levels and then based on your last period, try to calculate when you would be due. Probably an internal exam and an ultrasound later on to find the heartbeat.
