So two questions:
1) what do they do about cervical ectopy?
2) what exactly is involved in a colposcopy and is it painful? |
I'm in the UK and 22 and I've had a smear test too. I don't know why they say on the website 25 - 64 because they've been sending me letters since I moved here and registered with a doctor.
ANyways I'm really sorry for you and I hope you're okay. I have no idea what they do for those things but I did a google search and found:

Cervical ectopy is not necessarily an abnormal condition and does appear temporarily in a lot of women under hormonal influence during puberty and pregnancy. The use of the oral combined contraceptive pill is also known to favor its reappearance or persistence.

Treatment is rarely needed for this condition. In cases when they become a nuisance cauterization may be used to eliminate ectopic cells.
