Lower back pain/injury

4 days ago my lower back muscles tensed up and have been really slow to let go. It's only now that I can stand up straight, and not scream in pain when I get up from laying down. But I'm still very stiff and in pain and I don't know why! I didn't do anything physically that would have caused it, although I did have a very stressfull family member in town when it happened (can your back go out from being extremely annoyed for 10 days?).

Any tips for relieving the tension? I've been coping with Tylenol and Icy Hot patches, but those seem like putting a Band-Aid on a gunshot wound.
