| I had the implant implanon fitted a couple of month ago, and since then I've had non-stop on/off bleeding, some days heavy, some days hardly anything, it does seem to be getting better recently but it is a pain. I would say it has possibly altered my moods slightly, but can't be sure that it is the reason, as I've had a baby just over 4 months ago and it could be some post natal depression. It doesn't make you infertile, as soon as the implant is removed your fertility returns almost immediately, they say anything from 2 hours after removal is possible.
I'm leaving mine in for another month, and if I'm still having problems with the bleeding at my 3 month check I may ask about having it removed, but I've also read on the internet that irregular bleeding is extremely common in the first 3-6 months, and then it settles down.
It doesn't hurt to have it fitted, and the scar is barely noticiable, however you can notice the rod under the skin at times, and I tend to 'play' with mine. |
