| | | Question about my Invisalign Braces coming off I am currently wearing my last set of Invisalign trays that will be done on Monday. I had to wear the braces for a total of 24 weeks. ( about 6 months). The normal time frame is anywhere between 8-14 months. I finished with mine so early because i only had a problem with my 4 front, lower teeth. The middle 2 were tipping backwards and the 2 teeth surrounding them were colliding into the middle 2. Other than that, everything was straight. I just had spacing. But now my teeth are PERFECTTT!!!!!!!!
My orthodontist said my problem happened because my tongue puts too much pressure on my front teeth. When i speak my tongue pressing againstt hem, when my mouth is shut, etc.... In order to prevent this problem from happening again I have to get a metal wire bonded behind my 4 lower teeth and my 4 upper teeth ( to prevent a gap from forming).
Has anyone ever had the wire bonded behind their teeth before? Do you notice it is there? How long did you leave yours attatched? My doc said that i can have the wires removed after a few years but by then people dont even notice them and leave them on indeffinitely.
These wires are not removable retainers. They are bonded ( glued) to the backs of my teeth. |

| | | I have those, don't really bother me. You don't notice them.
The only thing - they tend to fall off from time to time.
Also make sure they are not too high - otherwise they can affect the speech.
Basically, what I found from the whole braces experience - they are fucking liars!
They say it's 6 months and you are fixed, but then you find out that you have to have some wires glued to you or wear some shit at night or whatever till the end of your life!
I wish they told it before. |

I am very pleased with my nice straight teeth The wires will be attatched tomorrow.
I would rather have the wires vs. a night retainer for a year. I tjust seems that the wires will prevent it from happening over a longer period of time than retainers that would only last a year. |

They both last for life basically. |

| | i did the same thing with my tongue only when i swallowed i pushed against my teeth. i had these things called "tongue spikes" on the bottom that looked like medieval torture devices and this curved bar on the roof of my mouth. the tongue spike hurt as expected and the bar thing on the top made it hard to swallow some pills, like they would get caught in it. i had to dissolve aspirin in water to take it. overall, i guess they did their job. i got them taken off when i got my braces removed. i had the usual kind of braces not the invisialign kind. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
