anyone ever have to take the morning after pill?

What were the side effects like for you? I had to take it for the first time today. In all my seven years of being sexually active, I've never had a condom break. I thought it never would happen, but it finally did.

It is so good that it's available over the counter now. That makes it so much easier. I took the first pill 6 hours ago and so far I'm fine. I've just had a little bit of fatigue and light-headedness. I've been scared that I would be horribly sick for the next two days.

Same. In fact, nobody seems to feel any side effects. All that stuff in the label just makes you think "oh my God...I'm going to start feeling sick.." and then start convincing yourself you do feel sick

Yeah, I think it was probably a different pill back then.
I was so paranoid I would be puking all day and feeling sick, but I'm still fine.

I didn't actually puke, but I felt extremely nauseous all day, I took it about 7 years ago as well. Glad to hear they have changed it.

i know how you feel, you have to have a doctor's prescription to get it here
which is really stupid because if a condom breaks on a saturday night most doctors aren't open on a sunday

when I took it, my understanding was that it was basically like a month's worth of birth control pills. I don't know if it's still like that.

Levonorgestrel (or L-Norgestrel) is a molecule used in hormonal contraceptives. It is a 19-nortestosterone progestin derived from testosterone. It has mostly progestogenic effects, but also has androgenic and estrogenic effects.

Contents [hide]
1 Oral contraceptives
2 Emergency contraception
3 IUD
4 Contraceptive implants

[edit] Oral contraceptives
At a relatively low dose, levonorgestrel can be formulated as a monophasic, biphasic, or triphasic tablet. In the United States, the available dosages for the monophasic formulation range from 0.1 to 0.15 mg. This range is slightly modified in biphasic and triphasic forms.

[edit] Emergency contraception
Levonorgestrel is used in emergency contraception pills, both in a combined regimen which includes estrogen, and as a levonorgestrel-only method. For the latter, a single dose of 1500 ug within 3 days is almost 100% effectve. There are many names for levonorgestrel-only emergency contraception products, including Plan B, Levonelle One Step, and Postinor-2.

I felt fine after taking it, but it really messed up my cycle afterwards for a couple of months.

I had to take it about 2 years ago. I didn't puke, but felt like I needed to for about 3 days. Couldn't eat the whole time. I was very sore and crampy and bloated for about a week or so afterward. Not much fun, but better than having to get an abortion a few weeks down the line. I have a neg reaction to the pill, too. Had to call my gyno on a Sunday morning, her kids were screaming in the background, she seemed annoyed.
