For acne treatment?

I didn't have that bad skin really, it just bothered me alot.
Anyway I've been on it for three months nearly now, and its a bit touch and go, some weeks it's okay others it's not at all.

How long did it take your skin to clear up?
Do you think I should stick with it for another three month's and if nothing improves change back to a normal pill and go on antibiotics?

i havent tried that, but i've tried everything else (except accutaine, which i considered)

I was on it for 3 years and it did nothing good for my skin and made me gain a lot of weight (and get stretch marks all over my ass!) and made me crazy and depressed and manic and all over the place.

now I'm on a ligt pill (Mircette) and on antibiotics (I was also on antibiotics while on Dianette but it was the antibiotics making my skin better, not the pill because when I quit the antibiotics the acne came back even though I was still on dianette).

now with the light pill +light antibiotics + pure aloe vera gel at night (it's a fucking miracle! It works better than all those acne creams! (differin, benzoyl peroxide... they all irritated my face and seemed to make my acne worse...) my skin is great!

I'm glad your skin's got better, I've read loads of your threads about your skin. So it's nice to hear that.

I do use tea tree oil, I may try and find this aloe vera gel though, where do you get it from?

if you're in the US you're lucky because there's this brand called "Fruit of the earth" that sells practically pure aloe vera reaaaally cheap (I got a huge bottle for 5 dollars I think. I bought it like a year ago and only now is it almost empty...). I forgot where I got it, it was either Walgreens or Ralphs I think.

I think you can also buy it online at walgreens.com or other drugstore/cosmetic website.
which I will probably be doing because I need a new bottle and unfortunately don't live in the US any more.

OR. You could buy an aloe vera plant and just cut of part of the leaf and then get the pure gel from it. I have never done this but might buy a plant when my bottle is really empty...

But the Fruit of the earth kind is really good and it just seems easier to have it in a bottle than to have to always cut the plant.... And I have 3 cats and I think aloe vera is poisonous for cats...

also. I sometimes steam my face with this "facial sauna" I have. really good to open your pores and get your skin nice and clean by applying a mask afterwards (I use either Queen Helene Mint Julep, The Body Shop Tea Tree oil mask or Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay)

dianette worked miracles with my acne
i heard horror stories about how it has side effects so i came off it and my skin was badly inflamed with acne again within weeks so i went back on it

so i guess i chose vanity over health? but i havent had the bad side effects so maybe im lucky?

yea. It's really good for deep cleansing. It tends to irritate my skin a little though when I put it on non-oily areas or when I leave it on too long so watch out!

I love the way you can actually feel your face pulsate! I love thinking about how all the crap is coming out of my pores! lol

lolz, i did a search and couldn't find the aztec mask in uk highstreet shops. the last mask i did was a green mudd mask (at first though it stung like a mother! omfg i thought my face was gonna come off. but nah, no, there was no rash or anything), so it was alright. but its almost finished. i tired that tree tea body shop and saw/felt no improvemnt?

hmm. I have the tea tree body shop thing on my face at this very moment.
I like it because it tones down any redness in my face... it tends to just calm my skin and make it less oily.

yes dianette and diane or diane 35 are the same.

ok cool ... so i'm just on levlen ed but i got a presciption for diane 35 today, and will switch to it in a couple of weeks.

i didn't have any side-effects from the pill i'm currently on, so is it likely that i won't have many with this one? *fingers crossed*

I was on Dianette for nearly five years for my skin. It really didn't help that much (antibiotics did massively). Now I'm rather annoyed because at the end, I got break thru bleeding. Now even though I have swapped pills, it hasn't gone away. Two of my friends who were on Dianette have the same problems. So Dianette- passable for skin but appears to fuck up your menstrual cycle forever.
