John and Eleanor Kinzie lived in the log mansion on the right from about 1804-1834. They owned most of the land on the right(North) side of the river.

Virginia Hale and James Kinzie met and married at Fort Dearborn on the left (South)side of the river. They owned property on the south side and at the fork in the river called Wolf Point. James was the first Sheriff of Cook County.



George Hale left this Hale Manor in Kent England in 1620, a home owned by the Hales from 1575-1898.
