i want to quilt fish, how?

i want to make a quilt of this children's book.
i have alot of sewing experience but none quilting.
how difficult would these designs be (if you can't already tell, all the illustrations in the children's book are quilted):

what methods would i need to employ?
supplies?
is there a website to teach me that style?

i mean, i'm not a total sewing tard. i can buy all the fabric, cut all the patterns, do the beading, sequin/crystal work, embroidery, etc. i just don't know how to melt that into a quilt, so it's sturdy/durable/washable/warm. i DONT want to do a cross stitch pattern, where i sew the cover atop the rest of the quilt, dragging X stitches across the tiles to affix it (even if it's clear thread).

i feel like i want to make each page of the book a square in the quilt, with a like 4x6 grid (24 squares), with a border. i think i could do the stitching easily, it's just how to affix each square to the larger quit, or should i sew directly into the main quilt the whole time? can i sew this whole quilt at once, then line/stuff it later? or could i do a hand-sewn duvet cover thing, that could go atop a down comforter?

it's for a small child, so it needs to be a method/tips that would make it barf/pee proof, and can handle many loads in the washer over the years.

Instead of quilting - go to a bar and pick up a guy who will slap you about a little and stick his fat meat in between your sweaty legs. Then, I doubt you'll really bother with this project again.

Just my 2 cents.

do you go to craftster? they have a quilting forum:
How to Make Quilts, Quilting Patterns, Motifs, Designs & More - Craftster

if no one here can help, you can always register and ask there if you can't find answers in the stuff already posted.

i only ever quilted ONCE - something really basic when i was at school, so i'm useless on this one.

those illustrations are way cute.
