| | | Sock Monkeys I've always loved sock monkeys and have always wanted to make one, so yesterday I did.
He turned out pretty well but I think the next one I do will be better (a teacher at my school wants em to make one for his kiddie)
I had a big debate with myself about which button to make the eyes, red or purple, red or purple, so I used both.
Learn to make your own, here: ClubhouseB - Crafting: Sock Monkey Instructions
It's pretty easy.

Maybe if I'm not sick of making them after I've made two haha.
Would you believe that the counsellor saw some sock monkeys at a craft sale for $50 each? That's insanity, for sure.
Anyways, my mother is getting me socks with coloured heals tonight (hopefully). They should make a sick monkey.

| | That is a really cool sock monkey Effecer!
Larsen, you can make them without a sewing machine. Even if you have one you have to do a lot of the stitching by hand
Also, you can most certainly make one with boobs and a shlong, but you may need more than two socks. Three would do.

They don't take too long. I mean that was the first one I've ever made, and I fucked up once (a mindless mistake) and it took me forever to rip the seams. It took me about 5 hours, working on it until it all done.
I'm making another one (got new socks, gray with purple heals!) but she will be smaller than the one I made the other day so it shouldn't take so long this time.

Does it matter? | They're pretty thick socks. The monkey I'm making right now is made from wool hiking socks. She looks one thousand times better than the one I posted.
I really don't think it matters though, check this monkey out: rainbow sock monkey with a turquoise hat! on Flickr - Photo Sharing!

| | These are wonderful Emmah
Thank you for posting the instructions. I think I will go hunting for some crazy socks this weekend. It's my boyfriend's Birthday soon and last year I made him a zombie bear (albeit a rather awful one!) so maybe this time I will give the sock monkey a try!
Those look really well done, congratulations! |
