wintergreen canvas transfer - help!

if anyone knows anything about using oil of wintergreen to transfer photocopied (or xerox?) photos onto canvas, please, please share your wisdom!

i found instructions online but they don't work. although, it was transferring an image to card, not canvas. the advice was coat the back of the photocopy with wintergreen oil, place face down on the card and rub with the back of a spoon. but no ink is transferring onto the canvas at all. blah

ta, x

hello.
cellulose thinners. you can buy it from car stores, its a strong solvent used for thinning paint. basically, like the instructions for the oil you read. you do the same with the thinners. put a small amount (trust me this shit is strong) onto a cloth and place the photocopy face down onto paper/canvas you wish to transfer it onto, and rub it very hard, or ideally use a printing press if you can... but for canvas if its got wood on the back of it thats not possible anyway. but yeah. you have to press it very hard for it to transfer.

oh i just realised you made this post weeks ago. oh well maybe you still need a reply
