That's totally true.

I have so many friends who have a ****ty little compact digital camera and take a few pictures of themselves or other people or of their feet and then all of a sudden start saying photography is their passion. One of my friends once said to me 'I don't get it! If I adjust the shutter to 1000, it comes out all dark!'.
I do have digital cameras, and I am seriously considering buying a DSLR by the summertime, but at the moment, I love using the Praktica MTL3 I found in my dad's storage vault from when he was a photographer. I just think you get so much more satisfaction when you get it right.

Yes, its the difference between taking a snapshot and making a photograph. A real photographer could shoot a whole roll of the same subject and make each one unique by simply making artistic choices about depth of field, filters, lighting changes etc. I'm going to find my old camera right now....
