tina explanation- at the begining of the semster we picked a two words to use for a starting point and just let it morph in to what have you. my words were Halloween and tacky, so there's a little bit of bride of frankenstien in tina and a lot of tack. the teacher really wanted our pieces to make a statement so i said it was "modern monster" plastic surgery commentary blahblah, but i really just wanted to make a sassy sparkle bitch.
what she's made of: a wig, paper mache, paint, feather boa thing, fake nails & eyelashes, jewels. the boobs are these two styrofoam balls that i think youre supposed to make flower arrangements with, the body, head hand, etc were just made by balling up paper and wrapping it in masking tape then papermacheing over it. there is also a wire inside for support. then sequins were glued over the torso.
cupcake explanation- we were supposed to make a "shelter" that we could get inside of. i had no clue how to build a sound structure, so i just decided to make something that looks like an object, you konw distract from the shoddy caftsmanship. for the time alotted i decided a cupcake was probably the most do-able. and id be a liar if i said i wasnt insipred a little by the dad from Clarissa Explains It All, he was always designing those crazy buildings.
what it's made of- cardboard, duct tape, pink felt, staples, another styrofoam shpere that was painted, a wire wrapped in red yarn, and random junk for stuffing.
