I'm glad you say so because that's exactly how I feel about this one. It's a fairly bog-standard ballad. I've probably written a million more interesting things (to me, at least) but none of them have had the sensible rhythm or simplicity required for me to be able to incorporate them into a real song. My musicianship (I play rhythm guitar and have a basic understanding of drumming) is nowhere near a high level so I can't do anything complex in terms of the music. That's where I fall down big-style since, as I say, I need simplicity in the words in order to make a complete song and I rarely strive for simplicity when writing lyrics (although some amazing songs have very simple words).
But enough of that spraff.
I'll post more when I'm at home and have all my notebooks and stuff. For now, that's the only one I'm able to reproduce from memory.
