I've probably written a million more interesting things (to me, at least) but none of them have had the sensible rhythm or simplicity required for me to be able to incorporate them into a real song. But enough of that spraff.

| | It's all a bit cliched, but overall it doesn't suck as much as some people's lyrics who are famous in bands. Try not to rhyme so much (even though I do) or pick different beats to rhyme stuff on.
eg. you rhyme pretty much every 2 or 4 (or both) beats (that's how I read it anyway) so mix it up and rhyme on every 4 for a bit and then throw in a 7. Geddit?
I've read much much worse and I honestly think that if you have the music to back these "lyrics" (they're not lyrics to me until I hear the music, maaaaaaaan  ) then you'll be sweet. And if that's not what you want to do, you could still get a job as a lyricist if you really wanted. Just make sure it's for a cliched pop bitch! Haha. Kidding.
PS: Criticism/Entertainment: MY DAWG CAN WRITE BETTER PISH THAN YOOOOOOOOOOU! Plz go back to angst skool and kut some more  <3 |

Aye, rhyming seems to be the bane of my existence when it comes to writing. There are times when I'll sit down and consciously say "right, nae rhyming this time" and I'll come up with one line I like. Next thing I know I've got another three lines with perfect rhymes following it up. I cannae help it, min.
I've got some more recent stuff somewhere but it isn't on my compy (most of the above was copied and pasted from text files, from the days where I was sad enough to keep it all on my computer). All that stuff I posted was generally written years ago. I don't know if my style has genuinely improved since, but obviously I like to think it has.

I always rhyme, can't help it, but I just try to consciusly change it so it's not always at the end of the line.
